The Technical Drafter will work with electrical and mechanical engineering departments to create technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and 2D and 3D digital models of electro-mechanical equipment designs.
This role will be responsible for creating accurate, detailed technical plans for electrical systems using computer-aided design programs to convert specifications and design information from engineers into schematics and ready-to-ship drawings.
This person will collect initial drawings, calculations and design ideas from engineers, and combine all relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification using measurements, specifications and additional data from engineering team.
This role will work closely with the mechanical and electrical departments and should expect to provide support as needed by creating technical drawings and digital models within deadlines and utilizing multiple methods to ensure deliverables include all relevant design details.
Additionally, this person will communicate with manufacturing personnel to create detailed layouts to support production equipment and processes.
This role will assist to standardize, unify and apply design documentation standards in accordance with established industry and company-specific guidelines.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Create component, assembly and presentation models using Solidworks.
Create and maintain mechanical and electrical drawings using Solidworks and AutoCAD Electrical Strict adherence to company and industry standards for parametric modeling and detail drawings.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
Associate degree in Drafting, Design or Engineering Technology Minimum 3 years of professional experience with Solidworks Proficient with AutoCAD 2D Experience with Electromechanical design and manufacturing Excellent technical communication skills with engineers and manufacturing personnel Practical knowledge of ANSI Y14 drawing and dimensioning standards Strong attention to detail and mathematical abilities Able to plan and manage time to support multiple concurrent projects with tight deadlines Job Type:
